Candlelight Christmas: Love Actually, Home Alone & More
Popular holiday songs have the power to bring people together, because they often convey messages of hope, love and goodwill, which resonate deeply with the values associated with the holidays. But most importantly, some of them are absolute bangers! Mariah Carey has been warming every household (and shop) with “All I Want For Christmas Is You” since 1994. Wham!’s hit “Last Christmas” has been topping charts for decades, reaching a UK number one spot in January 2021, 35 years since its release.
And countless artists have covered Vaughn Monroe’s “Let It Snow”, from Sinatra to Michael Bublé. This holiday season, listen to these songs and many more, as featured in some of the most successful holiday films including Home Alone, The Holiday and Love Actually. As a group of classically trained musicians take to the stage at the Leeds City Museum, thousands of candles will light up adding a special and warm touch to the evening.
