The Rumours are true: a Candlelight tribute to rock band Fleetwood Mac is coming to Leeds! On July 30, the historic St George’s Church will be lit up by hundreds of candles as a trio of musicians perform a selection of hits from the legendary group in a new, pared-back way. The captivating concert will make for a fabulous weekend treat, unwinding among striking architecture as the melodies of the iconic band wash over you. You can book your tickets here.
As Fleetwood Mac have rocked the music industry for nearly 50 years, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’ve heard the best renditions and covers of their works already; however, in this case a talented pianist and violinist (who are yet to be announced) will be the ones bringing brand-new versions of favourites, like Dreams, Gypsy and Gold Dust Woman, to your ears. There will be two 60-minute performances on the evening, one at 6pm and another at 8.30pm – some might say, you can Go Your Own Way when it comes to picking the time that suits you best.
On the evening, you’ll be taking a seat in St George’s Church. Inside, the expansive space will be transformed into an intimate setting; with the flickering candlelight – dancing across the high ceilings, biblical mural and stained glass windows – and the delicate notes of the instruments making for a magical night.
