Candlelight certainly know what they’re doing when it comes to putting on stunning live music performances in incredibly intimate settings. By combining the magical flicker of candlelight with the moving melodies of live music, these spectacular tribute concerts have dazzled audiences around the world. This June, the Candlelight series is heading to Wakefield to wow music lovers with classical renditions of hits by their favourite artists under the warm glow of flickering candles.
Starting off this series of remarkable concerts with a bang is an unforgettable tribute to Adele at Wakefield Cathedral. Thanks to the sea of glimmering candles and the spellbinding sounds produced by a string quartet, this is sure to be a fabulous tribute concert to the star that you won’t want to miss.
As one of the most beloved and historic landmarks of the city, Wakefield Cathedral has loyally served the local community ever since its construction in 1090. The cathedral windows’ intricate panel tracery and stunning stained glass panes are just some of the many reasons why this building was awarded Grade I status in the early 1950s. In fact, one of the cathedral’s most impressive feats is that it has the tallest spire in Yorkshire that can be seen from miles and miles away.
Coming to illuminate this historic venue is this sensational tribute to the one and only Adele this June. Audiences will hear classical twists on iconic songs such as Chasing Pavements, When We Were Young and Easy On Me as they’re performed by a string quartet in a beautiful candlelit setting. Prepare to unwind to the sounds of two violins, a viola and a cello while bathing in the warm glow of candlelight.
After having enormous success around the world—in cities like London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona and Leeds—Candlelight brings its unique experience to Wakefield to pay tribute to one of the most popular and influential artists in the world.
Note: For the safety of our audience, all of the candlelight will be provided through flameless candles.
